Well, if anyone actually reads this, you know it’s been awhile since I put anything up. I’ve just not been feeling it.
Today at work we had an early ass meeting and the Representative for the 9th District of Michigan came by. His name is Gary Peters.
I found this interesting, because it is always good to hear from the people we chose to represent us. Now, I did not choose him, and he does not represent me, but it is nice none the less.
He really did not say much, it was mostly about the economy of Michigan, and the clean energy propositions that Michigan and the US are looking into. He also stated crap about how he made sure to add things to bills that would help Michigan specifically. Can you say Pork? I knew you could.
But it is nice to see a Democrat realize that small business is necessary to see the Michigan and US economy grow. His voting record is quite high in supporting small business, and he is willing to buck the trend of his party, when it comes to small business.
This is not good enough though, from his record, and the reason, per his website, for voting against some of the huge spending bills, was only because it did not have enough for small business. These bill should have been voted against, because there is no reason to waste our money trying to bail out this economy. If the government would get out of the way, the economy would rebound much quicker. Now it may be painful, but it would be a quick pain, like ripping off a band-aid. (If you want references, let me know.)
Peters also said that we all know that it was Wall Streets fault for this mess of an economy. Please tell me Rep. Peters, how? They invested money, and it went south. Well, guess what? It happens. There is no perfect system. Wall Street is us, we invest in it. Our mutual funds, our 401k’s, our IRA’s, and many other things, all are invested in Wall Street. That means that we did this. We could have stopped it, but we did not. The responsibility is on the people to walk with there feet. But people like you have made humanity think that they need a parent to look out for them. This is not the case. This is not capitalism, when the people are not willing to walk away, this is an example of a socialist capitalism.
