So on Tuesday David Letterman made a joke about Sarah Palin’s 14 year old daughter getting knocked up by Alex Rodriguez. The only thing is that he thought he was talking about Palin’s other daughter, who is of legal age.
The story starts when Sarah Palin and her, 14 years old, daughter went to New York on a trip. This prompted David Letterman to deliver the joke that was described before. This joke caused Palin to strike back, because she was pissed that he had made a sexual joke about her 14 year old daughter. Letterman in response said that he was innocent for he had meant the other daughter.
This strikes me as a situation like a man getting arrested for sex with a minor, and he says “I thought she was 18.” This defense doesn’t work in that case, and it shouldn’t work in this case.
Yes, we all know that it was probably a mistake, but people need to pay and learn for their mistakes.
To this point, Letterman needs to sincerely apologize to the Palin family, and learn that he should do more research on his jokes. I know that nobody can do anything to Letterman, because he is truly powerful in the entertainment business. So, he will have his job until he retires, but that doesn’t make him a good man. I wonder how he would feel if someone made the same joke about his kid. I bet he would be happy.
Oh, if you missed it, I did say that Letterman was as stupid as those that “thought she was 18.”
