Administration ordering local police to hide information from public

When has it been acceptable for police organizations not to give a full report to its citizenery?  I couldn’t think of one.  Apparently, now it is.  Why would that be needed?

The Obama administration is citing a need for secrecy,  but that is completely messed up.  WE have a right to know what is going on with our local police forces.  Saying the CIA or NSA need secrecy in how they conduct their business is one thing, but to say that our police need the same is pure crap.

We have procedures and precedents that are set, and we need to keep them intacted.  Our local cops are not at the order of the president, they are a division of our cities, counties, and states.  Unlike the National Guard, the president cannot federalize them.  (well I’m sure he could, but that would just be scary)  There is a reason why the police are tied to the local governments, and it’s to keep national politics out of our daily life.

By saying that we don’t have a right to know what the local police are buying, the federal government is saying that we, the normal hard working citizen patriots, are all a risk to them.

To be viewed in this way is unacceptable.  Just because something somewhere might happen, doesn’t give the fed or our local police the right to spy on us.

We have a right to know the capabilities of our local police force.

By the People. Despite the people.
