I Moved And All That Happened Was Ebola

For the past week or so, I’ve been busy moving from a suburb on the east side of Detroit, to one on the north side of Detroit. Not that it’s important, but I love the new place, it looks good and it is centrally located, at least for us.
During the move I was hoping that I wasn’t missing out on too much of the news cycle, or at least missing out on commenting on it.  I never stop paying attention.  Thankfully, it appears that not much really happened.  The only new thing of note was that the world is freaking out, even more, over the ebola epidemic in West Africa that seems to be spreading.  The worst scare so far has been in the UK, when a woman collapsed and died at Gatwick.  Thankfully it wasn’t ebola, but the fear was high.  Also, it appears to have spread to Nigeria, which has just reported their second confirmed case.
Some people, like Michael Savage, are angry that they have brought two Americans with ebola back to the US to be treated.  This, to me, is pointless.  Savage’s logic is technically valid, he says that with any virus, like a cold, you try to avoid contact, and thus we should not be bringing these people home.  While the logic is correct, I don’t think there is much chance of ebola getting out.  Is there a chance?  Yes, but very, very slim.  Since Obamacare, people haven’t been talking about the greatness of American medicine, but we all know that it is better than West African medicine.  Given this, should we not allow our fellow Americans the benefit of our medical standards and procedures?
