Butt of the Joke

Butt of the Joke post thumbnail image

Our relationship with the United Kingdom is usually a mix of sycophantic love, and a good back and forth ribbing.  This time however neither the UK nor us are laughing at each other, because we are both the butt of the joke: the UK is the left cheek with a butterfly tattoo, and the United States is the right cheek with a mole constellation that looks like the Big Dipper.

Our respective governments are full of jokers that can’t get anything done, because they are too busy trying to secure political points, instead of actual governing.

In the UK, the political leaders are trying to determine if they actually need to take the will of the people into consideration, or if they should try to hem and haw their way into staying in the European Union.

And meanwhile, back in the US, our leaders have pushed themselves into a deadlock that has caused the government to be partially shut down for the past 27 days and counting. With Nancy Pelosi not inviting Donald Trump to give his State of the Union speech, and with Trump responding by denying congress the use of military transport.

Are there any parents around?  No?  OK then, about your business then.

If only we could have governors instead of politicians, maybe then we could get a government that has not slid into the cesspools of humanity.

What did the left butt cheek say to the right butt cheek?

Can’t we just meet in the middle!?!
