Now don’t get me wrong. I love Canada. It’s a great beautiful country, and the people are great as well, like in most countries.
However, their Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, is a moron, who doesn’t really understand the world. Take the costumes he and his family wore in India.
He also doesn’t understand national security. He recently got all bent out of shape, because Trump, rightly or wrongly, put tariffs on metals from our allies. When Trump gave the order to enact the tariffs he stated that the tariffs would help our national security. (That probably isn’t the reason for the tariffs, but it could have played a small roll in the decision.)
In his rebuke of the tariffs, Trudeau took this to mean that we don’t trust the Canadians, and that Trump doesn’t know that they are one of our greatest allies, and trading partners.
However, that isn’t what was meant, as everyone should know. When Trump said that it would help national security, he meant that it would ramp up metal production in the US, which would make us less reliant on other countries. This same argument has been used to pump more oil, and too start mining rare minerals, which aren’t rare, they just aren’t mined in the US.
It is a national security benefit to produce all materials for war within ones own country. Sources from other countries can be cut off, no matter how friendly they are today.
So Mr. Trudeau, that is what was meant. Your response only highlights how Canadians really don’t understand the US.
Remember, Canadian troops did burn down the White House in the War of 1812.
