It’s Just an Election

Good Non-Partisan 2016 Election Day Morning. For those worried about the future, just know that history says that everything is going to be ok. Remember that George W. Bush was going to ruin America? Remember that Barak Obama was going to ruin America? Remember how Bush promised to work with the Democrats on Capitol Hill? Remember how Obama was going to change everything?

Remember how nothing really changed?

We will get through the next four years, the same way we always have. The winning side will call it a mandate, even though nearly half the country doesn’t agree. And the loosing side will complain that the system is rigged. (Remember, Al Gore still complains about 2000.) The winning side will change little things here and there, but for the super-majority of Americans nothing will change. We all still have to get up, work, feed children, get dressed, drink beer, and then set on repeat for the next 1456 days, until we are suckered into voting again.

Also, if you decide that you want to move to a new country after the winner is announced, please remember that every country has its warts, and unhappy people tend to be unhappy wherever they are. Same with happy people by the way.

So let us drink a beer, or intake your favorite intoxicant, and know that at least half the country will hate the new president by the end of it all.
