Why is that so many countries in Africa seem to have major political issues? Is it because of the “white man?” Is it because they are poor? Is there something inherent in their society? Is it something that troubles all of man kind, no matter where it is located? What is it?
There are so many countries in Africa that have had problems in the recent past: Rwanda, Kenya, South Africa, Sudan, Niger, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe to name a few. And it doesn’t seem to be changing. The Kikuyu’s and the Kalenjin’s are starting to arm themselves with automatic guns, just incase violence erupts in 2012 or earlier. This question can not be easy blamed on any one thing, but it has to be a combination of them all, and possibly even more than that.
First off the “white man” can be blamed for he setup the system in which Africa works. They also divided the continent to countries, based on a slip of the arm. (There really was no rhyme or reason.) They split ethnic groups into two or more countries, and place many different groups into one state. There are over forty tribes in Kenya alone. This sort of grouping has caused wars throughout the world, including WWI and WWII. (The later was more of an excuse, than a real thing.) So, it should not be surprising that there is conflict in Africa.
Blaming the poor economy can be blamed, because there are a few people who strive to better their lot, and the lot of their families, through any means. The poor are also easy to sway to one side or the other; all you have to do is promise to raise them up and the poor will follow you. Poor people are usually less educated than wealthy individuals, so they are easier to control.
The society as a whole, in Africa, seems to have a violent thread in it. They seem to be willing to do anything to get ahead. There seems to be something that drives them to grab onto power, even if they can’t hold on. They are not afraid to kill for a cause that they see as just, whether it is or not. Family and tribe are truly the only things that matter, and if they are endangered the offending party better be careful.
All of mankind has these same problems, to one extent or another. People are forced to live in areas where there are different cultures, which causes strain. (Albania, Serbia, and Croatia are examples.) There have always been poor, and there are poor people throughout the world, nothing will ever change that. Every society also has a violent thread to them. There are ambitious people everywhere, and many will do anything to succeed. Families and ethnic groups are always tight, and will always protect each other.
So why is Africa the way it is? I have no clue. It could be because they are just starting to industrialize, but that is being slowed down by the eco warrior whites. Is it that they have a climate that allows people to survive without heaters, like South America. What is it? There are too many possibilities, but the one thing that I know, is that it needs to change in order to better the human condition for all.
