Sanity in Foreign Policy

Thankfully, the British and French are starting to tone down their rhetoric towards Syria, and clearer heads are demanding actual evidence.  As of the time that I’m writing this, the Obama administration has not lowered their tone towards Assad, but hopefully it will be soon that they ease on their talk of attack, especially with Russia sending ships to the area.

From the intelligence that has been released, there is no smoking gun that points to Assad ordering the attacks, nor one of his direct subordinates.  The US administration says that it does not matter who ordered it, as long as it came from government troops Assad has to bear the responsibility.  (Like the US president ever takes responsibility when someone in the US military commits an atrocity.)

There are still too many questions for a military strike to happen.
