I thought I would wait to weigh in on the newer developments, and actually I was going to not say anything anymore on the subject. Then it all changed when the SoS John Kerry had the verbal diarrhea, and said there was a way out for Assad. While this was an accident, it was the right thing to do. Thankfully, Russia picked up on this, and ensured that the international community would back it up.
Obama and Syria

Now, I am not saying that it will work or anything. The administration is right to think that Assad will not abide by it, but by Assad agreeing to the chemical weapons convention he is stating that he can not use the weapons, and if he does we then have the right and obligation under international law to attack. Of course this could lead to another Iraq situation, but then it would be based an agreement that Syria agreed to, and in my opinion it would then be legitimate to attack Syria, if they did not fulfill their side of the deal.
On a side note, it really appears that the Obama administration has no clue what they are doing. Our lead diplomat should know better than to have verbal diarrhea. I hope, but I know I will be wrong, that people do not say this was an intentional slip that gave Obama a way out, because Obama’s speech last night had gave no sign that it was that way.
