How about a middle ground, and one that people can support? Not like the Libertarian view where we tuck our tails between our legs and run away, but an actual middle.
How about we do what we say, keep the oceans secure, and ensure our allies are protected, just like they protect us? How about we realize that Russia is feeling trapped, and under valued? (whether rightly or wrongly) How about we try to fix that, by actually heeding and then acting on their concerns? How about we learn this same lesson with China and their ever growing sphere of influence?
If it is known that Russia feels a special tie to the Ukraine, why are we trying to get that economically poor and militarily weak nation to be part of NATO and the EU? Seriously, it will just cause an economic and strategic strain on both, which is not needed.
How about we use RationalPolitik, and use our brains instead of the gut reaction that the Right and the Left seem hell bent to follow?
